• A 23 yr old patient came in to abort her 15 week pregnancy. During the abortion, she hemorrhaged and became unresponsive. The clinic staff tried the measures they had in place to respond unsuccessfully. They had to call 911. The patient went to the ER and ended up in surgery to have an emergency hysterectomy because her uterus had a huge hole in it from the abortion instrument. The clinic did not report the incident to the Department of Health as they saw no need.
